41 SOA researchers named in Stanford’s top 2% scientists list for 2025
Bhubaneswar, Sept 22: Forty-one researchers from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University have been featured in the prestigious Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% scientists for 2025. This marks a significant rise from 2024, when 32 SOA scientists were included in the same global ranking.
The Stanford list identifies scientists under two categories—career-long impact and single-year impact—highlighting global leaders in research across disciplines. SOA, ranked 15th among Indian higher education institutions in the 2025 NIRF rankings, has been steadily gaining recognition for its research output.
Of the 41 researchers, 23 are from the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the university’s faculty of engineering and technology. Eleven others are from five dedicated research centers, while four are from pharmaceutical sciences, two from medical sciences, and one from agricultural sciences.
Among those recognized are former SOA Vice-Chancellors Prof. Pradipta Kumar Dash and Prof. (Dr) Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, along with leading researchers like Prof. Kulamani Parida (Centre for Nano Sciences and Nano Technology), Prof. Lala Behari Sukla (Bio-fuels Bio-processing Research Center), Prof. Hrudaynath Thatoi (Centre for Industrial Biotechnology Research), and Prof. Sanghamitra Nayak (Centre for Biotechnology).
The inclusion of SOA scientists in successive years reflects the university’s growing global footprint in scientific innovation and research, spanning engineering, medicine, biotechnology, and agricultural sciences.
