Bhubaneswar, April 20: The three-day painting camp titled “Vande Mataram,” organised to mark 150 years of the iconic national song Vande Mataram, concluded at Shakuntala Gallery on Sunday.
The camp was hosted by the Visual Art Department of Sanskar Bharati, Utkal Purva Prant, with support from the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Government of Odisha. As many as 35 artists from across the state participated, presenting their creative interpretations of the patriotic theme on canvas.
Prominent artists including Priyadarshini Mohanty, Biswanath Barik, Rajesh Nayak, Mamata Samantaray, Nirod Nalini Behera, Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik, and Tejaswini Samantsinghar were among those who took part in the camp.
The concluding ceremony was attended by noted dignitaries such as Chandrasekhar Hota, Binod Maharana, Niranjan Panda, and Nitai Charan Nanda. They highlighted the cultural and emotional significance of “Vande Mataram” and its enduring relevance.
The event concluded with a collective rendition of the national song by artists and guests. Janardan Paramaguru proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of participants and organisers.
