Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, on Monday announced comprehensive preparations for the upcoming High School Certificate (HSC) Examination, scheduled to commence from February 19, with a strong focus on security, surveillance, and real-time monitoring.
Addressing a press conference, BSE President Srikanta Tarai informed that the dispatch of question papers will begin from Tuesday. This year, the matriculation examination will be conducted at 3,082 centres across the state, supported by 322 nodal centres designated for the secure storage of question papers.
A total of 5,61,979 students have registered to appear for the examination. To prevent malpractice, CCTV cameras have been installed in all exam centres, and the entire process will be monitored from the Board’s central command and control room.
Tarai stated that advanced safeguards such as QR-coded and watermarked question papers have been introduced to track movement and prevent leaks. Special live-monitoring arrangements have been made for remote districts including Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh.
Additionally, the State Open School Certificate Examination will be conducted over 11 days from 9 am to 11:30 am daily, with centres allotted within 3–10 km of students’ residences.
