Bhubaneswar, Sept 9: Odisha on Wednesday stepped up its efforts to attract global investments, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi leading a high-level delegation in a series of meetings with UAE business leaders, investment institutions and members of the Indian business community.
The day-long engagements focused on showcasing Odisha’s industrial strengths, emerging sectors and investment opportunities while exploring avenues for partnerships with leading companies and investors in the Gulf nation.
Majhi and the Odisha delegation held a roundtable interaction with the International Holding Company (IHC), along with its business verticals and group companies. Discussions centred on identifying potential investment opportunities and strengthening industry partnerships with Odisha.
The Chief Minister also interacted with members of the Indian Business and Professional Group (IBPG) in Abu Dhabi. The engagement sought to deepen India-UAE business ties and highlight Odisha’s potential as a competitive investment destination.
A key engagement was Majhi’s meeting with Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, CEO of Borouge. Discussions focused on the petrochemicals sector and explored possibilities for investment and collaboration in Odisha.
The state delegation also met leading UAE investment institutions, presenting Odisha’s industrial ecosystem, emerging sectors and investment opportunities to prospective investors.
The outreach later extended to Dubai, where the delegation inaugurated a display of Odisha’s One District One Product (ODOP) items, providing greater exposure to traditional products, handicrafts and local enterprises.
Majhi later met the Consul General of India in Dubai to discuss ways to strengthen Odisha-UAE institutional, business and community-level linkages.
