Bhubaneswar, Aug 25: The Odisha T20 League 2026 is set to begin on September 18 at the iconic Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, with the tournament final scheduled for September 27. The 10-day competition will bring together cricketers from across Odisha and provide an exciting platform for both established players and emerging talents.
Six franchises representing different regions of the State—Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar, Puri, Rourkela and Sambalpur—will compete in the tournament. The regional representation is expected to add a strong local flavour to the league while giving players from different parts of Odisha an opportunity to compete against quality opposition.
The tournament is also expected to play an important role in nurturing young cricketing talent in the State. Promising players will get valuable exposure to competitive T20 cricket, allowing them to gain match experience and showcase their abilities. Strong performances could help emerging cricketers progress to higher levels of domestic cricket.
Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Secretary Sanjay Behera welcomed the return of the competition and expressed confidence about an exciting season at Barabati Stadium.
“We are very happy that the Odisha T20 League 2026 is set to begin on September 18. The tournament will continue until September 27, and we are looking forward to an exciting season of cricket at the Barabati Stadium,” Behera said.
He underlined the importance of the league in providing opportunities to local players.
“The league provides a very important platform for cricketers from Odisha. It gives them the opportunity to play competitive cricket, gain valuable experience and showcase their talent. We hope this tournament will help many players take the next step in their careers,” he added.
With six regional franchises competing over 10 days, the league is expected to generate considerable interest among cricket fans across Odisha and further strengthen the State’s domestic cricket structure.
