Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: The Odisha government has announced that financial assistance under the Subhadra scheme will be credited to the bank accounts of newly registered beneficiaries on January 22. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida shared the update through a post on social media platform X, confirming the revised date for the disbursement.
Under the scheme, eligible women receive Rs 5,000 as direct financial support aimed at empowering them economically and strengthening household incomes. The initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to promote financial independence among women and provide support to families from economically weaker sections.
Earlier, the assistance was scheduled to be released on January 18. However, officials decided to revise the date to ensure proper verification of beneficiary details and inclusion of all eligible applicants. The additional time was utilised to complete document scrutiny and address grievances raised during verification.
In this phase, around 4,57,681 women across Odisha will receive the benefit. This includes newly registered beneficiaries, women whose names were reinstated after verification, and those added during grievance redressal hearings.
