Bhubaneswar, Mar 27: Chief of the Army Staff Upendra Dwivedi arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday on an official visit to Odisha. He landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport aboard a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
Following his arrival, the Army Chief proceeded under tight security to the 120 Battalion, where arrangements have been made for his overnight stay and an official dinner.
On Saturday, General Dwivedi is scheduled to visit Puri, where he will offer prayers at the revered Jagannath Temple. He will then travel to Gopalpur to visit the Army Air Defence College, a premier training institution of the Indian Army.
During his visit, the Army Chief will review ongoing training programmes and interact with serving officers as well as ex-servicemen. A live firing demonstration has also been planned at the Field Firing Range to showcase operational preparedness.
General Dwivedi is expected to conclude his official tour and return to Delhi on March 29 after completing his engagements in the state.
