Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: The Government of Odisha will distribute ₹5,000 crore to more than 1.02 crore women beneficiaries under the fourth installment of the Subhadra Yojana on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
The disbursement programme will be held at Talabania in Puri district. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will formally announce the release of funds during the event, which will also be attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
According to Parida, the government has received around 1.12 crore applications for the scheme. Out of these, more than 1.02 crore eligible women will receive financial assistance in the fourth installment. She said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening the economic and social empowerment of women across the state.
As part of the Women and Child Development Department’s International Women’s Day celebrations, several beneficiaries will also be honoured for their achievements during the event.
Parida further informed that 2.13 lakh new beneficiaries have been included in this cycle, while 36,385 women will receive assistance through the grievance redressal mechanism. Women turning 21 are enrolled annually, while those reaching 60 are shifted to the pension system.
