Bhubaneswar, Mar 2: The Odisha High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations 2026, popularly known as the matric exams, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, concluded smoothly on Monday, March 2, officials said.
The examinations commenced on February 19 and were conducted at 3,082 centres across the state under strict supervision. The Board implemented robust monitoring mechanisms, including live surveillance from a central command control room, to ensure transparency and prevent malpractice.
BSE President Srikant Tarai confirmed that no cases of malpractice or major violations were reported. “Except for a few minor issues at certain centres, the examinations were conducted peacefully,” he stated.
The Board informed that evaluation of objective OMR sheets has already begun. Assessment of subjective answer scripts will start from March 19, engaging nearly 14,000 to 15,000 teachers at 51 evaluation centres statewide. If the process continues without disruption, results are expected in the first or second week of May 2026.
In a student-friendly move, the Board plans to provide digital certificates and marksheets online. Enhanced security features such as AI-based monitoring, QR codes and watermarks ensured the hassle-free conduct of this year’s examinations.
