Bhubaneswar, Mar 25: The India Meteorological Department has predicted a gradual increase in maximum (day) temperatures across Odisha by 2–4°C over the next two days, with no significant change expected thereafter. The forecast comes as part of its latest Farmers’ Weather Bulletin, indicating a mixed weather pattern across the state.
According to IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at one or two places in several districts, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sundergarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal. In contrast, dry weather is expected to prevail in the remaining districts over the next 24 hours.
The department has also issued a warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds with speeds of 40–50 kmph at isolated locations, particularly in districts like Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Koraput.
Day temperatures are expected to hover around 36°C, while night temperatures may remain near 24°C. IMD has advised residents, especially farmers and outdoor workers, to remain cautious and take necessary safety measures.
