Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: In a significant step to strengthen AYUSH healthcare services in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a substantial salary hike for contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM).
The move is aimed at recognising their vital contribution to the public healthcare system and motivating them to continue delivering quality medical services, particularly in rural and remote areas.
As per the revised pay structure, salaries have been enhanced based on years of service. Contractual AYUSH doctors with less than five years of experience will now receive a minimum monthly salary of Rs 56,948 after a hike of Rs 20,000. Those serving between five and ten years will get Rs 74,467 per month following an increase of Rs 25,000.
Doctors with 10 to 15 years of service will see their salaries rise to Rs 80,467 with a hike of Rs 30,000. Similarly, those with more than 15 years of experience will receive Rs 91,467 per month after an increase of Rs 40,000.
Around 2,912 AYUSH doctors across the state will benefit from the revision. The enhanced pay structure will entail an additional annual expenditure of about Rs 1 crore for the state government, while boosting grassroots healthcare delivery.
