Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: In a major move towards promoting digital governance and enhancing public convenience, the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) has introduced a Digital Payment Facility through Point of Sale (PoS) at its office premises in Arunodaya Bhawan, Link Road, Cuttack.
The decision has been taken on a priority basis in public interest to expedite financial transactions, reduce manual cash handling and strengthen transparency in office operations. A dedicated Digital Payment Cell has been made operational at the Finance Branch single-window counter to facilitate smooth payments.
Under the new system, allottees, licensees and applicants can now make payments of up to Rs 5 lakh using QR codes, UPI and card swipe modes. For such transactions, cash deposits up to Rs 5 lakh will no longer be accepted. To ensure accountability, all branch officers have been directed to submit copies of demand letters to the Digital Payment Cell.
Vice-Chairperson of CDA, Kirandeep Kaur Sahota, said the initiative will bring greater transparency and efficiency in office functioning. She added that the enhanced QR code transaction limit of Rs 5 lakh will save valuable time for citizens, as they will no longer need to visit banks repeatedly for demand drafts.
Calling it a citizen-friendly initiative, she said it reflects CDA’s commitment to simplified procedures, improved service delivery and technology-driven governance.
