Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday successfully organised its first village-level stakeholder public meeting on the proposed Town Planning Scheme–1 at the Baranga Block Office, marking an important step towards participatory urban planning. The meeting saw enthusiastic participation from landowners of Ratagarh-Lenkasahi and Chandiprasad villages, highlighting strong public interest in the planning process.
The meeting was chaired by CDA Vice-Chairman Kirandeep Kaur Sahota and attended by Secretary Dr. Sweta Kumar Dash, Assistant Town Planner-cum-Nodal Officer of the TP Scheme Bishnu Prasad Sahoo, Administrative Officer Janak Kumar Nayak, and other senior officials.
The primary objective was to deliberate on land-related issues, planning proposals, development provisions and the allotment policy under Town Planning Scheme–1. During the session, the Nodal Officer outlined the key features of the scheme, including planned infrastructure development, improved road connectivity, provision of public amenities and systematic urban growth. Landowners actively shared their views, suggestions and concerns.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chairman reaffirmed CDA’s commitment to transparent and inclusive governance, stressing that public participation is vital for the successful implementation of town planning schemes. Officials assured stakeholders that their feedback would be carefully considered. The meeting concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, reflecting constructive dialogue and cooperation.
