Bhubaneswar, April 28: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday as part of its ongoing investigation into the Azadnagar bomb explosion case.
According to sources, NIA officials collected key medical records and other relevant documents related to the accused and his associate, who were admitted to the hospital immediately after the blast. Investigators are closely analysing these records to understand the nature of injuries and reconstruct the sequence of events following the explosion.
The central agency is also examining whether high-intensity explosives such as RDX were used and if the incident has links to a larger conspiracy or organised criminal network. As part of the probe, the NIA team is reviewing the timeline of medical treatment provided to the injured suspects and their condition upon arrival at the hospital.
Officials are expected to interact with doctors and hospital staff who treated the injured to gather first-hand accounts and additional inputs that may aid the investigation.
The explosion occurred on January 27 in the Azadnagar area of Sundarpada, leaving four persons critically injured and prompting a high-level multi-agency probe.
