Bhubaneswar, April 18: The Odisha Government is set to establish the State Institute for Transformative Initiatives – Odisha (SITI-Odisha), a high-level policy think tank and strategic advisory body aimed at guiding the state’s long-term development agenda. The initiative is aligned with the goals of ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ and ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
As per a resolution issued by the Planning & Convergence Department, SITI-Odisha will replace conventional planning systems following the dissolution of the State Planning Board on July 18, 2024. The new institution is designed to adopt a forward-looking approach centred on innovation, strategic policy planning, cooperative federalism, and measurable outcomes.
SITI-Odisha will operate across key thematic sectors including Economy & Finance, Rural Economy & Livelihoods, Employment & Urban Development, Ideation & Innovation, Energy Transition, Environment & Forests, and Mining & Natural Resources, aligning with Odisha’s development priorities.
The institution will be governed by a council chaired by the Chief Minister, comprising a Vice-Chairperson, full-time members, ex-officio members, and special invitees. A structured administrative framework, supported by a Project Implementation Unit and a State Monitoring & Evaluation Office, will ensure effective implementation and promote evidence-based governance across the state.
