Subhadra Yojana crosses 1.03 crore beneficiaries; over 4.38 lakh women still await next instalments
Bhubaneswar, May 29: The Subhadra Yojana continues to make remarkable progress across Odisha, with over one crore women benefitting from the scheme so far. According to the latest update shared by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, a total of 1,03,75,941 women have received the first instalment, while 1,01,92,724 women have successfully received the second instalment under the programme. However, Parida acknowledged that 4,38,898 women—despite getting both initial instalments—are still waiting for the subsequent payments, prompting the government to address the pending cases at the earliest.
Her statement came in response to a question raised by MLA Pabitra Saunta in the Odisha Assembly. The MLA sought clarity on whether students who already receive scholarships are also eligible for the scheme’s financial assistance. He further pointed out several issues faced by beneficiaries, including delays in receiving funds and challenges during the application process.
Responding to these concerns, Parida informed that 2,27,410 women have newly applied to join the Subhadra Yojana as of November 20, 2025. She clarified that students can indeed avail the benefits of the scheme, provided they fulfil all eligibility conditions. The government, she added, is committed to resolving delays and ensuring smoother implementation for all beneficiaries.
