SOA women workforce honored with 'Femina Achievers East' award 2024
Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: The women workforce at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) has been honored with the prestigious 'Femina Achievers East' award for 2024. The award, recognizing SOA’s ‘Committed Women Workforce’ in the education sector, was presented at a special event organized by Femina, the oldest women's English magazine, in Kolkata.
Dr. Andrew Fleming, the British Deputy High Commissioner to East and North East India, and Nicolas Facino, Director of Alliance Française du Bengale, presented the award to SOA's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, and Public Relations Officer, Subhadarshini Mishra.
SOA, ranked 14th in the 2024 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), has a female student population of 54%, and 42% of its total workforce, including faculty members, are women. Notably, women hold 45 key positions in the university. Among them, Prof. Manjula Das serves as the Controller of Examinations, and three of SOA’s 11 institutes are led by women.
