Odisha's cold spell set to ease as temperatures rise, IMD reports
Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: The cold weather conditions in Odisha are expected to ease as temperatures rise across the state in the next 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
In a bulletin released on Tuesday, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar warned that dense fog is likely to blanket several regions over the next three days. A yellow alert has been issued, indicating that dense to very dense fog may occur in one or two locations within the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, and Khurda in the coming 24 hours.
Additionally, shallow to moderate fog is anticipated during the early morning hours in various districts, including Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Khurda, and potentially in Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.
The weather agency noted that dense to very dense fog could persist in parts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, and Khurda from Wednesday to Thursday.
While no significant changes in minimum (night) temperatures are expected in the state over the next 24 hours, a rise of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in night temperatures is anticipated over the following four days.
