Odisha hosts successful Ambassadors' Meet to attract global investments
Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: The Government of Odisha successfully held an Ambassadors' Meet today at the ITC Maurya in the Diplomatic Enclave, Chanakyapuri, marking a significant milestone in the lead-up to the highly anticipated Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025.
The event showcased Odisha's vibrant industrial ecosystem and presented new investment opportunities to a global audience. It was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, consul-generals, trade commissioners, and senior diplomats from 34 countries, including notable nations such as Indonesia, Norway, Singapore, China, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, the USA, Thailand, Vietnam, and the UK. Additionally, nine foreign associations participated, reflecting growing international interest in Odisha.
In his keynote address, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed the ambassadors, emphasizing Odisha's rich history and strategic location as key factors in its emergence as a leading investment destination. He highlighted the state’s abundant natural resources and skilled workforce, inviting attendees to the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, a platform for collaboration and growth.
The event featured an interactive session, allowing ambassadors to engage in discussions about opportunities in Odisha. Hon'ble Minister of Industries and Skill Development, Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, expressed gratitude to participants, reiterating the state's vast potential for investment across various sectors and assuring attendees of the government’s commitment to fostering a favorable business environment.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja welcomed guests, noting that under Chief Minister Majhi's leadership, Odisha is rapidly becoming a global investment hub, supported by strong infrastructure, rich resources, a skilled workforce, and progressive policies. He urged global partners to explore diverse opportunities in industries, technology, tourism, and innovation.
The event included the release of a video highlighting the Make in Odisha 2025 initiative, showcasing the state's potential. Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of Industries, presented on various sectors open for investment. Notable speakers included Jyoti Vij, Director General of FICCI, who emphasized collaboration, and A. Ajay Kumar, Joint Secretary (States) at the Ministry of External Affairs, who discussed the central government's support for Odisha's development. Nivruti Rai, Managing Director of Invest India, shared insights on investment trends in the region.
The Ambassadors' Meet effectively positioned Odisha as a key player in attracting global investments. The Government of Odisha looks forward to welcoming international partners to the Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, scheduled for January 28-29, 2025, in Bhubaneswar, to explore even more collaboration and growth opportunities.
