Odisha election: 10,551 polling stations ready for 94.48 lakh voters

Bhubaneswar, May 23: On May 25, a total of 94.48 lakh voters in the six parliamentary constituencies of Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, and Bhubaneswar, along with 42 assembly segments, will cast their votes.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal announced today that among the 94.48 lakh voters, 48.30 lakh are male, 46.18 lakh are female, and 1,291 belong to the third gender.

Dhal noted that there will be 10,551 polling stations, including 2,000 model polling stations, 1,500 stations managed by all-women personnel, and 30 stations staffed by personnel with disabilities. Additionally, 121 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed for this phase of the election in the state.

"We have taken all necessary measures to ensure peaceful polling. CAPF will be stationed at over 2,000 critical polling stations, which constitute about 20% of the total. The deployment will involve 121 companies of CAPF," the CEO stated.
