Music director Abhijit Majumdar critical at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, may be shifted to Delhi

Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: Acclaimed Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar continues to battle for his life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he is under intensive medical care for multiple health complications. According to hospital sources, the noted composer remains comatose and on mechanical ventilation support, with his condition described as stable but critical.

Majumdar, who has given countless hit songs to the Odia film and album industry, is being treated for hypertension, hypothyroidism, chronic liver disease, pneumonia, and severe lung infections. While his liver and kidney functions have stabilised, doctors have not observed significant improvement in his overall condition.

Discussions are underway between AIIMS Bhubaneswar and AIIMS Delhi to explore the possibility of airlifting Majumdar for advanced treatment if necessary. A team of specialists is closely monitoring him round the clock.

Meanwhile, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling assured that the state government will bear all medical expenses. He has also directed that a special panel of doctors be engaged in his treatment. The final decision regarding his transfer to Delhi will be taken after consultations with senior medical experts.
