IMD issues yellow warning for dense fog in several Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar, Feb 2: Several parts of Odisha are expected to experience dense fog over the next two days, even as daytime temperatures continue to rise in some regions, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

In its latest weather bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar stated that no significant change in night temperatures is anticipated over the next four to five days.

The mercury has risen in several areas across the state, with four locations recording maximum temperatures exceeding 35°C in the past 24 hours. Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district registered the highest temperature at 35.6°C, followed by Jharsuguda at 35.2°C, Sonepur at 35.1°C, and Balangir at 35°C.

The IMD has forecast dense fog in multiple regions over the next two days and issued a yellow warning for certain districts. Shallow to moderate fog is expected during early morning hours in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal within the next 24 hours.

Additionally, dense fog may develop in one or two locations within these districts, prompting a yellow warning. A similar advisory has been issued for Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Khurda, and Ganjam from Monday to Tuesday morning.
