Four-year-old girl allegedly assaulted by neighbor in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: In a deeply distressing incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by her 30-year-old neighbor in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The accused reportedly lured the girl with the promise of chocolates before committing the crime.

The shocking event occurred in a slum area of Bhubaneswar. After the assault, the girl was rescued and taken to a hospital for medical attention. The Airfield Police swiftly acted upon the case, detaining the accused and initiating a thorough investigation.

The case was brought to light when the girl's parents reported the incident to the Airport police station. Sources indicate that the girl was playing near her home when the neighbor invited her under the pretense of giving her chocolates. He then allegedly took her to his residence, where the assault occurred, and later returned her home with additional chocolates.

The girl disclosed the incident to her parents, who promptly filed a complaint with the police. DCP Prateek Singh confirmed that an investigation is underway to address the crime and ensure justice.
