Bhubaneswar to host monthly Patha Utsavs, says H&UD Minister

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: The Odisha capital, Bhubaneswar, hosted the second Patha Utsav of the season on Sunday at Jagamara New Road.

The stretch from Nilakantheswar Temple in Baramunda to Jagamara was transformed into a vibrant cultural hub, attracting residents who braved the chilly morning to engage in a variety of activities, including music, dance, yoga, and storytelling sessions. The event, which began at 6:30 am, featured mesmerizing performances by singers Aseema Panda, Satyajit, and Rapper Big Deal. Traditional dance forms such as Sambalpuri and Odissi highlighted Odisha's rich cultural heritage, while stilt walkers, clowns, and skaters entertained children, making it a fun-filled experience for all.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, speaking to the media, announced that Bhubaneswar will host 12 Patha Utsavs annually, with one event scheduled each month.

The first Patha Utsav of this season was held on January 5 at Master Canteen Square, coinciding with Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations.
