Bhubaneswar, June 19: Odisha Vigilance has unearthed a substantial amount of movable and immovable assets during ongoing searches at properties linked to Satyanarayan Sethy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Kotpad Block in Koraput district, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
According to Vigilance officials, searches conducted at multiple locations have so far revealed a 2-BHK flat measuring around 1,000 square feet at Hi-tech Plaza in Jatani, Khordha district. Investigators have also identified two large farmhouses located at Taragaon under Boriguma Tahasil in Koraput district. One farmhouse, spread over 10.03 acres, contains mango and eucalyptus plantations, while the second farmhouse extends over 4.35 acres and is used for Nilgiri plantation.
In addition, Vigilance sleuths have traced 32 valuable land plots situated across Jeypore, Koraput, Boriguma, Kotpad and Patangi tahasils. During the searches, cash amounting to Rs 5.48 lakh and approximately 300 grams of gold jewellery were also recovered.
Officials said bank deposits, postal savings and other investments in financial instruments held in the names of Sethy and his family members are currently being verified.
The Vigilance Technical Wing has been tasked with measuring and assessing the market value of the flat, farmhouses and land parcels. Search operations are still underway, and authorities said the total value of the assets will be determined after completion of the verification and valuation process.
