Swami Pujyananda explained the concept of “Prana” or life force, which is considered the driving force behind all activities within the human body. He highlighted how Kriya Yoga helps individuals regulate their breath, achieve mental balance and develop the courage to face life’s challenges with calmness and confidence.
The participants also learned about renowned spiritual figures associated with the Kriya Yoga tradition, including Mahavatar Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Paramahansa Yogananda, Sanyal Mahasaya, Swami Hariharananda and Swami Prajnananandaji Maharaj. The session provided valuable insights into the history and global spread of the ancient yogic practice.
After paying homage at the samadhi of Yogi Hariharananda Giri, the walkers explored the Gurukulam’s Unity Trail, which symbolizes interfaith harmony. The trail features statues of revered figures from different faiths, including Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Jesus Christ, Mother Mary, Mahavira and Lord Buddha. The serene campus, surrounded by lush greenery and housing a large goshala, left a lasting impression on the visitors.
In the final leg of the walk, participants visited the historic Maa Narayani Temple at Narayanibanta. On the occasion of Pahili Raja, they offered prayers to the revered deity and admired ancient sculptures, unique artworks influenced by the Pattachitra tradition and a collection of rare photographs depicting the history of Shrimandir and Puri.
The heritage enthusiasts also enjoyed the festive spirit of Raja Parba by swinging on traditional swings tied to old trees within the temple premises.
