Bhubaneswar, Mar 12: The Odisha government on Thursday carried out a minor reshuffle in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre, appointing several officers to key administrative and departmental positions across the state. The changes were announced through a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department.
According to the notification, Manish Agarwal (IAS, 2012 batch), who was serving as Additional Special Relief Commissioner with additional charge as Additional Secretary in the Planning and Convergence Department, has been appointed as Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Odisha.
Smruti Ranjan Pradhan (IAS, 2012 batch), currently Additional Secretary in the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, has been appointed as Managing Director of the Odisha Small Industries Corporation. He will also continue to hold additional charge as Chief Executive Officer of Startup Odisha. With his appointment, the additional charge of Startup Odisha CEO held by Rashmita Panda will cease once Pradhan assumes office.
Siddhartha Das has been appointed as Director of Fisheries, Odisha, with headquarters at Cuttack. Meanwhile, Madhusmita Sahoo will serve as Director of Teachers’ Education and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (TE & SCERT), while continuing as Additional Secretary in the School and Mass Education Department.
Among other changes, Somesh Kumar Upadhyay has been appointed Director of Textiles and Handlooms, and Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke will take charge as the new Collector and District Magistrate of Malkangiri. Several young IAS officers have also been assigned new roles in district administration and development bodies.
